About Me

I’m an amateur photographer who over the last few years has found creating black and white images an increasingly satisfying and rewarding creative outlet.

I have no formal training. A day’s course in getting to know and use my camera on holiday in Somerset a few years ago and membership of a local camera club with like minded souls are where I’ve learned how to create the images I want.

My images are mostly digital, but my better efforts with film are included here as well.

I find inspiration in the work of such masters of the art as Fred Lyon, Jack Delano, Rebecca Lepkoff, Ernst Haas and Roman Vishniac.

“It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.”
